09R LIFE – A PRISM

The theme of the class assembly of 9R is “Life– A Prism”. What is a prism? A prism is a solid three-dimensional object made up of glass which is transparent and fragile. Light passes from air to prism and splits into its constituent colours creating a spectrum of vibrant colours.

All this is science. But, in a much broader sense, we can say that a prism represents life. This is a question that we all need to ask ourselves. What is life? Who are we? The answer will be ‘ We are the people’. Yes. But, who are “we the people”? Are we the confused white light entering the prism or are we the happiest coloured spectrum coming out of it?

Just try to compare our life with a prism.

A single white beam entering a prism represents a person who is new to this world and the spectrum of colours that comes out of it symbolizes all the different experiences and memories that we gain in life.

We can also attribute this concept of prism to various spheres of life such as arts, sports etc.

Take the example of Leonardo da Vinci. In the field of art, Leonardo da Vinci, much like a prism, absorbed knowledge from several disciplines and blended them.

Just as a prism that transforms a single beam of light into a spectrum of colours, our imagination also has an incredible ability to transform ordinary ideas into extraordinary creations. Our imagination acts as the prism of our mind, breaking down the limitations and barriers.  So imagine as high as Mount Everest, have faith in God and you can achieve anything in this world.
