09P THE TIE THAT BINDS

The theme of “The Tie That Binds” explores the interconnectedness and unity within a
community or group. It delves into the idea that despite differences in backgrounds, beliefs, or experiences, there are underlying bonds that hold people together. These ties can manifest in various forms, such as shared values, traditions, or common goals.

First and foremost, the tie that binds can be found in our relationships. Our friends, families, and loved ones—they form the foundation of our support system. They are the ones who understand us, who laugh with us, and who lend a helping hand in times of need. These relationships are like threads woven together to create a beautiful tapestry of love, care, and understanding.

Moreover, the tie that binds extends beyond our immediate circle. It encompasses ourclassmates, teachers, and the wider community. We share common experiences, dreams, and aspirations. We learn and grow together, supporting and encouraging one another along the way. These connections foster a sense of belonging and unity, creating a supportive environment that helps us thrive as individuals and as a collective.

But the tie that binds is not limited to human relationships alone. It extends to our environment, our planet Earth. We are all interconnected with nature, relying on its resources and being responsible for its well-being. The air we breathe, the water we drink, and the ecosystems that sustain us—they are all part of the delicate web that ties us to our planet. Recognizing this tie urges us to be responsible stewards, caring for the environment and preserving it for future generations.

In the context of the class assembly of 9P, this theme could be highlighted through storytelling, performances, or speeches that showcase instances where students have come together, supported one another, and formed strong connections. It may emphasize the importance of solidarity, empathy, and inclusivity in fostering a sense of belonging and cohesion within the class.

Through “The Tie That Binds,” the assembly aims to celebrate diversity while also emphasizing the collective strength that emerges when individuals unite for a common purpose. It encourages reflection on the ways in which each member contributes to the fabric of the class community and reinforces the idea that together, they are stronger and more resilient.

In conclusion, the tie that binds is a powerful force that shapes our lives. It encompasses our relationships, our community, and our connection to the natural world.

09Q KALIZEN

“Please, keep looking. Not for a person, but for your passion, your love, your courage, your goals, your dreams, your happiness, and most importantly, yourself. Keep looking. Explore yourself before you explore another. Only then will you know what you need over what you want. You need yourself to become your own.”

The concept of our assembly “Kalizen” has been created by our class through the combination of two Japanese and Greek words, ‘Kalon’ and ‘Kaizen’.

“When life places stones in your path, be like water. A persistent drop of water will wear away even the hardest of stones”. The philosophy of “Kaizen” is of adapting and improving constantly. Every day is an opportunity to improve, even if it’s by 1%. The essence of Kaizen is the idea of making small, incremental improvements in life to be the better version of yourself. It emphasises on taking small steps, rather than big changes, one step at a time, to make the transition to your best version simpler and more unique.

“True beauty is about who you are as a human being, your principles, and your moral compass.” “Kalon” refers to beauty that emanates from a person’s inner qualities, such as kindness, compassion, wisdom, and integrity. This notion suggests that true beauty is not just about how someone looks on the outside but also about your flaws and what makes a person stand out

Hence, Kalizen is about embracing the journey of self-improvement and personal growth, recognizing that true beauty lies in who we are as individuals, our principles, and our moral compass. It encourages us to strive to be the best versions of ourselves, one small step at a time, and to appreciate the beauty that comes from within!Top of FormTop of Form

“Just because you are not doing what other people are doing, doesn’t mean you are failing or falling behind. You’re charting your own course and staying true to yourself, even though it would be easier to join the crowd. You’re creating a life you can fall in love with instead of falling in line. You’re finding the courage to do what’s right for you, even though it’s uncertain, scary, and hard” Thank you!

12P  SNEHAM  MATHRAM

A math teacher once came to the class and asked the students a question. “If A=B and B=C, then A=C.

Can you give a practical example for this?” One boy said ” It’s simple ma’am, I love you, you love your daughter. Well, I don’t think I need to complete the equation now do I? ” Ever wondered what makes a relationship meaningful, genuine, lasting forever? Ever wondered what is true love? Love is much more than the often-used three words, “I love you” Love is more than those sentiments and touchy feelings.

Our first experience of love is at birth. The bond that we form with our parents is one of the purest.

Parents love us from the moment we are born, and this love only grows stronger.

Siblings may not always get along and fight constantly, but the love between them is the strongest.

Despite all the fights and arguments, they will always defend us and keep us safe.

Friendships also have the essence of love. A friend is someone with whom you just love to spend your time, can share your joys and sorrows. Friendship is nothing but pure love without any expectations.

Love is less about knowing the person and more about caring for the person. A caring heart walks more than the extra mile to offer service to the beloved. Love is a great blend of caring and daring. Daring to stand up and accept the person completely regardless of their falls and shortcomings. Daring to practice the virtue of forgiveness and to be able to let go of the mistakes and the blunders, small and big in that relationship. Yes, it’s like the beautiful, colourful, fragrant rose, those emotional feelings. But it’s also like accepting the thorn that comes along with the rose, those weaknesses, those shortcomings, those faults.

Yes, love is about complete acceptance, a package deal, like a rose, beautiful in it’s colour and fragrance but also coming along with the thorn.

Love is more than a noun – it is a verb; it is more than a feeling – it is caring, sharing, helping, sacrificing.”

06Q MIRROR – REFLECTION OF THE TRUE SELF

Mirrors not only reveal our physical reflections but also offer a compelling metaphor for self-discovery. Mirrors allow us to see ourselves. They show us what we look like, they let us examine ourselves. They can give us a glimpse of our true selves. The mirror is more than a mere-looking glass, it is a profound symbol of introspection. Beyond the surface-level reflection, it beckons us to explore the depths of our inner selves. They don’t just reveal our appearance. They can reveal who we are on a deeper level.

When we advise someone to ‘take a look in the mirror’, we are suggesting that the person needs to consider what they are doing or seeing to become aware of their flaws. Here, the mirror is employed to assist a person in realising the need for self-evaluation and behaviour modification. A mirror is not a mere reflection of who you are. It is the reflection of how you see yourself. It is the eye of the beholder.

It is a reminder that the journey of self-discovery is not a static one rather it is a dynamic process of constant growth and in the realm of personal development mirrors serve as silent companions. They reflect not only our strengths but also our vulnerabilities inviting us to embrace the full spectrum of our humanity.

In the grand tapestry of life, mirrors become symbolic portals of self-awareness. They challenge us to question our assumptions, break free from self-imposed limitations and embark on a journey of continuous self-improvement. Just as a mirror reflects the image before it, we have the power to shape our reflections through conscious choices, compassionate self-reflection and a commitment to personal growth.

In conclusion, let the mirror be more than a utilitarian object, let it be a metaphorical guide on our journey of self-discovery. Embrace the reflections with an open heart and a curious mind. May we navigate the mirrors of our lives with courage, authenticity and a deep appreciation for the beauty that lies within and beyond the surface?

‘Life is a mirror, if you frown at it, it frowns back, if you smile, it returns the greeting’ – William Makepeace Thackeray.

09T SEEK AND YE SHALL FIND

‘Seek and Ye Shall Find’ is a quote taken from the Bible, Matthew 7:7. This verse concentrates on the fact that everything we want to know about life is within our reach if we are willing to earnestly seek after them. It’s one thing to say that you want answers and its another to pursue them relentlessly and honestly. If we want to discover our talents, we have to demonstrate our will by earnestly seeking them out.

We have all had certain moments in our lives when we felt that we were unable to find anything unique within ourselves or felt like we could never stand out from the crowd. As Brenda Uulend once said, “Everybody is talented because every human has something to express”. We’re talented, each one of us is, we just have to look for it. This is where our theme comes in, ‘Seek and Ye Shall Find’. Some of us find our talents earlier than others and it’s nothing to boast about, while some of us find it later and it’s nothing to be ashamed of. Let’s say you’ve found your talent, acknowledged it and you know what you’re good at. Is that it? Is your job done? No, it’s not. The thing with talent is, “Talent is never static its always growing or dying” So is your talent growing or dying? You get to choose. Next time you feel talentless just remember that “Everyone is gifted, some people just don’t open their packages”

08S TEAM: TOGETHER EVERYONE ACHIEVES MORE

Everyone has heard the saying “Teamwork makes the dream work”, but what does this phrase mean? Every great firm is built on a strong sense of teamwork. People may accomplish a lot more when they come together and work towards a shared objective than they could on their own. No person who has ever succeeded has worked alone.

Graham Bell did not invent the telephone all on his own, he had a friend, Thomas Watson to help him with his discovery. A person working alone can achieve so little as if it were a tiny molecule of water in the Pacific Ocean. But a person working with whom they can trust can achieve something so big as if it were the entire Pacific Ocean. In our school, our principal, vice-principal and non-teaching staff are working together to make this school a beautiful place. As Itachi Uchicha once said, “However strong you become, never seek to bear anything alone, it will ultimately lead to your failure.”
TEAM- Together Everyone Achieves More. By working together we can live in a truly wonderful world

08Q METANOIA

“The journey of changing one’s mind, heart or way of thinking.”

This Greek term denotes the change of mind; a reorientation, a fundamental transformation of outlook of a person’s vision of themselves and the world; a new way of loving oneself, others and God.

Don’t we all wonder what others are thinking about us?   Even if it is a small mistake we made, we feel insecure and start overthinking, sound relatable?

Then we try so hard to delete it, but it doesn’t work. And you know what, why not fill your mind and heart with happy and positive thoughts, and eventually those thoughts that you wanted to delete will automatically disappear.

This is repentance, some may call it regret.

But I like to think of it as the rearrangement of our mind, leading to a new way of thinking or the change of the mind that leads to the change of our heart and then our actions.

Regret is that uncomfortable feeling, it stops there. Repentance is realizing it and looking through different perspectives to start the journey of metanoia.

Metanoia seems void but what makes it meaningful is repentance and perspective. And what makes it complete is you.

If we ever get stuck on something, feeling guilty and trying to delete it, it ends there, we will never be able to start this beautiful journey.

There is so much for us to explore and learn in ourselves, so much to think through different lights and at the end of the day to be happy in our venture.

Metanoia, this beautiful journey never ends, it just goes on and on forever.

06P POWER OF CREATIVITY

Our Assembly’s theme is… The Power of Creativity!!! It entails breaking free from conventional thinking and birthing innovative concepts. Creativity is not a gift exclusive to a select few; rather, it resides within each individual. Its transformative power imbues the mundane with excitement and possibility. Creativity acts as a catalyst for uncovering novel solutions and driving progress across various spheres of life. Its scope transcends traditional realms like art and music, permeating every facet of human existence.

When embraced, creativity empowers us to tackle challenges through unconventional means, birthing ingenious solutions and fostering self-expression. Beyond its practical applications, creativity possesses the capacity to reshape perspectives, forge connections within communities, and catalyse positive change on a global scale. Cultivating creativity necessitates embracing openness, embracing risk, and nurturing curiosity, traits essential for navigating the unpredictable terrain of innovation.

In the words of Albert Einstein, “Creativity is seeing what no others see and thinking what no one else ever thought.” It is an innate quality that defines our individuality and shapes our endeavours, be it in the realms of art, technology, or everyday problem-solving. From devising groundbreaking inventions to infusing mundane tasks with ingenuity, creativity infuses life with vibrancy and possibility.

Consider, for instance, the act of designing a birthday card for a friend. Here, creativity sparks a cascade of questions and ideas, guiding the process of crafting a personalized, visually captivating token of affection. This inherent creativity, ingrained in the human spirit, serves as a wellspring of inspiration, propelling us to explore new horizons and enriching our lives with boundless imagination and innovation.

05R POSITIVE THINKING

Positive thinking is a mental attitude in which you expect good and favourable results. In other words, positive thinking is the process of having thoughts that create and transform energy into reality. A positive mind waits for happiness, health and a happy ending in any situation.

Positive thinking can sound simple but it is not easy. Once BUDDHA said,

“We are what we think. “This is why it is important to constantly choose a positive way of thinking and make an optimistic attitude. It can make a great and harmonious relationship. It is the key to success and gives you vibrant health. It can aid in stress management and even plays an important role in your mental health and well-being.

Once there was a farmer who yielded more paddy grains. His neighbour farmer is so jealous. “How can he yield more grains than me?” So he started throwing waste in his neighbour’s field. A few months later, the fields are ready to harvest. Again the neighbour farmer yields more and more grains. The farmer was confused. “How is it possible? “He asked, “How did you get more paddy?”

The neighbour farmer said, “it’s because of you”,  “what? I can’t understand”

“Waste products you threw are converted into fertilizer. “he replied.

Like that, some people keep on making negative comments and dirt on us. We have to fertilize them to be positive and shine in our life.

Here are some tips to think positively.

  1. Notice and reframe negative thoughts
  2. Practice gratitude.
  3. Be kind to others.
  4. Do something good for others
  5. Laugh

When we are successful in thinking positively, our lives will be filled with joy and satisfaction.

Thank you.
